Medicare Assistance
Medicare is complex and difficult to navigate alone. We’ll walk you through the entire Medicare process from enrollment, finding a plan that fits your needs, and saving money on your Medicare costs.
Medicare Insurance Agent Victoria, TX
Medicare can be complex and confusing for those enrolling into Medicare for the first time, as well as those already enrolled with the yearly changes to Medicare. Using a local agent in the Crossroads will allow you to get expert guidance and assistance with the Medicare process from enrollment into parts A&B, finding and choosing a plan that will fit your needs and budget, and utilizing other programs to save money on your Medicare coverage.
How Medicare Works
There’s a few different circumstances that will make you eligible to receive Medicare benefits. This includes turning 65, retiring and dropping your employer sponsored health insurance, receiving Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) for 24 months, and certain qualifying health conditions (ESRD, ALS, etc.)
Original Medicare is separated into 2 parts, Part A and Part B. These cover your doctors and hospital bills but they don’t cover 100% of your costs or prescription drugs, and can leave you with very expensive deductibles and co-insurance (with no yearly limits). By utilizing a Medicare Supplement Plan paired with a Prescription Drug Plan (Part D) or a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) that includes your Part D coverage, we can lower your exposure to expensive hospital and drug costs that you’d experience by having Original Medicare only.
When to Enroll Into Medicare
You will have an Enrollment Period available to you depending on your specific circumstances. We recommend enrolling into Medicare within the first 3 months that you become eligible in order to have your A&B active, a plan selected, and experience no lapses in your health coverage. We can assist you in the entire enrollment process while providing you expert, non-biased guidance based on your specific needs.
Medicare Supplement
Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap) fill in the gaps of Original Medicare, limiting the out of pocket expenses that you would be exposed to. Supplement plans are standardized by plan letters A-N, meaning that the coverage is the same for all carriers, the only differences will be pricing. Supplements offer great coverage with stability of cost through a monthly premium as opposed to copayments and coinsurance. You will still need to enroll in a Prescription Drug Plan (Part D), and any dental, vision and hearing plans separately from your supplement plan, with separate costs and premiums for each one.
Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage Plans take over for Original Medicare through private health insurance companies (United Healthcare, Humana, etc.). Medicare Advantage plans typically have low to $0 premiums, extra coverage such as dental, vision, and hearing, as well as extra perks such as gym memberships and groceries. Medicare Advantage plans trade out the cost of a monthly premium for copayments and coinsurance. Advantage plans will also include your Prescription Drug Plan (Part D), meaning you can have all of your insurance coverage with one plan.
